  • Implement age gating measures to verify a user's age before allowing registration or access to gambling services
  • Integrate responsible gambling tools such as session timers, deposit limits, and reality checks
  • Include visible links to addiction support services on every page of the gambling platform
  • Host the platform on infrastructure that is registered with and accessible by the HGC
Additional Requirements
  • Only approved games and software may be offered to users
  • Advertising must not target minors or vulnerable individuals, and must comply with content restrictions
  • Operators are required to maintain a distinct player account for each user with transparent transaction logs
Individual Rights
  • The law does not directly establish individual user rights. However, players' rights regarding personal data, account access, and privacy are governed under Greece's implementation of the GDPR.

Enforcement
  • Supervised by the Hellenic Gaming Commission (HGC)
  • Violations may lead to fines up to €500,000 (approx. USD 550,000), license suspension, or full revocation
  • The HGC is empowered to block unlicensed websites and impose access restrictions in cooperation with ISPs and payment processors
